QR code taxis

Wireless Watch recently ran a story about K-cab, a service which sticks QR codes embedded with a URL containing locational information on vending machines. Prospective passengers scan the QR code with their mobile to connect to a taxi web site which then dispatches a taxi to their location.

Location based services are really hotting up in Japan this year but what stands out with this service is you don't need one of the newer GPS mobiles to use it.
