Mobile Codeatron

Generate AU, Docomo and Softbank compatible QR codes.

Newer mobiles from AU, Docomo and Softbank in Japan include the ability to read QR codes and all carriers have developed specifications for tagging phone book entries, email messages and so forth within QR code.

The Mobile Codeatron generates AU, Docomo and Softbank compatible QR codes as well as a simple generic format that should work with any QR code reader on the planet. If you're feeling brave, you can also format the raw text yourself. Most fields are optional and you only need fill fields in the sections you want to use in your QR code.

Mobiles only support QR codes up to version 10 so if you intend to include all sections in your QR code, you may need to be frugal with phone book note and mail message fields. You will receive a warning if your data exceeds the maximum supported QR code version.

You can learn more about QR codes and what you can do with them here:

Although AU specifications are essentially identical to Softbank's, the QR code readers in many AU mobiles can also interprete Docomo tagged QR codes.

Unformatted QR codes will reach the greatest number of mobiles including QR code capable mobiles outside Japan. Mobiles will add links to any email address or URL they find in unformatted QR code text. Most mobiles will add telephone links to any number string in the text although Japanese mobiles usually require the TEL: prefix.

Since there are no rules regarding the layout of unformatted text, feel free to modify your generic QR code in the raw input section.
